The pattern offers two versions—one for thicker stripes and one for thinner stripes—so you can choose the perfect match for your self-striping yarn.

Rhydun - Worked in the round, Rosie contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for an afterthought heel, but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using.

The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:

7 [7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5, 11]” / 18 [19, 20.5, 21.5, 23, 24, 25.5, 26.5, 28] cm circumference — select a size from the finished measurements that is 1-1.5” / 2.5-4 cm smaller than your foot circumference. These socks are worn with negative ease. We made the sample pair from the toe-up directions in size 3.

SUGGESTED NEEDLES:

US1 (2.25 mm) 32-40” (82-102 cm) circular needles, or size required to obtain gauge.

Tapestry needle, scissors, tape measure, cable needle, scrap yarn, stitch marker (1)

YARN REQUIREMENTS:

MC: 200-500 yds / 183-458 m of fingering weight yarn (depending on the length of your foot and leg)
CC: 60 [68, 77, 86, 96, 106, 116, 127, 138] yds / 55 [62, 70, 79, 88, 97, 106, 116, 126] m of fingering weight yarn

GAUGE:

32 stitches by 40 rounds in stockinette = 4” / 10 cm, after blocking. Gauge is crucial in obtaining the correct fit. Changes in gauge will result in a size difference for your finished socks.
