Electric Slide (Digital Knitting Pattern)

$8.00

Electric Slide floods me with memories of my grandmother, Hazel, who I used to visit a province in British Columbia during our summer vacations. She taught seniors line dancing for several years, so my brother and I would be brought to the dance hall to watch (and sometimes participate) in line dancing with all these lovely folks in their western wear… which entailed that stunning electric blue. It is funny how we forget about these beautiful, pleasant moments like that until we are brought back to them with something as simple as a colour.

Note: This is a digital knitting pattern for you to download and print at home. No physical pattern will be shipped.

Description

Worked in the round, this sock pattern contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for a short row heel, but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using (links included for alternatives).

The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer (ensure you denote your instep stitches with extra markers – so you don’t miss the placement of the heel or toe shaping).

This sock pattern shines well with self-striping, solid, semi-solid, lightly variegated, or speckled yarns. Picking an appropriate yarn for this project will ensure the yarn and the pattern are not in competition with one another, rather, they’re working together to create something magical.
